Sebastiano Esposito will get chances to impress in the coming weeks perhaps even as a starter according to a report in today’s paper edition of Corriere dello Sport.

The teen sensation has been forced to miss out upon representing Italy at the under 17 World Cup that begins later this month as a result of Alexis Sanchez’s injury leaving Inter manager Antonio Conte short on attacking options.

Conte knew that with seven games in a 21 day period, beginning with a trip away to Sassuolo on Sunday, that three strikers in Romelu Lukaku, Lautaro Martinez and Matteo Politano simply would not be enough.

Whilst understandably a painful situation for Esposito, who wanted to go to the tournament in Brazil, he will almost certainly be reimbursed for his sacrifice in the shape of making his Serie A debut for the Nerazzurri.

The youngster shone during pre-season when Conte gave him a chance and he has made the substitutes bench on several occasions this season already.
