A Napoli ultra has been arrested in connection with the death of Daniele Belardinelli, an ultra who died as part of clashes between the ultra groups in December last year according to a report from Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.

Belardinelli died in hospital due to the injuries he sustained having been run over and 39-year-old Fabio Manduca has been accused by investigators of being the man behind the wheel the Renault Kadjar car which ran over Belardinelli and is facing charges of voluntary manslaughter.

The ultra groups of the two clubs clashed around San Siro on December 26 last year prior to the two sides meeting which Inter won 1-0 with thanks to a Lautaro Martinez goal.

These events, which have seen several others arrested on both sides and many banned from attending games, preceded more ugly events inside the stadium as Napoli central defender Kalidou Koulibaly was subjected to racist abuse from a portion of Inter’s support.
