Italian under 17 national team manager Carmine Nunziata has spoken further on having to do without Inter starlet Sebastiano Esposito for the upcoming under 17 World Cup in Brazil.
“Esposito is a very important player for us. Besides having great qualities, he is the leader of this team, so we will lose a lot by him not being here with us,” he explained in an interview with CalcioMercato.it.
“Inter were happy and gave the go-ahead for him to be involved but then Sanchez got injured and decided not to let Esposito go.
“I understand the Nerazzurri’s demands. It is normal that I am sorry, I would have liked to have went to the World Cup with him. However we have other quality players and a game plan, one that ultimately brings out the best in the individual.”
Whilst Nunziata has to do without Esposito, who looks set to be given a chance in the coming weeks at Inter, he will be able to rely on five other Inter players at the tournament.
