Inter coach Antonio Conte is keen to be reunited with Barcelona midfielder Arturo Vidal due to a lack of depth and creativity in midfield, according to a report from today’s paper edition of the Turin based newspaper Tuttosport.
The report details how the injury to 24-year-old Stefano Sensi has revealed the lack of true depth in the middle of the pitch for the Nerazzurri, with Vidal being the number one target in the upcoming January transfer window to fill that hole.
The report also highlights how 34-year-old Spaniard Borja Valero is considered unnecessary in Conte’s project with the club, with the player failing to register a single appearance so far this season for the Nerazzurri.
Vidal is considered the perfect man by Conte to reinforce the midfield and help the club close the gap with league leaders Juventus, who are currently one point ahead of the Nerazzurri. Inter are hoping that the money from the sale of Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa can be used to fund the operation.
