Inter Primavera manager Armando Madonna believes that several of his players going to the under 17 World Cup can open up opportunities for others and revealed that he thinks the team can still do just fine even with the many absences.
“Some have worked with the first team, a little with us, it’s not easy when there are international breaks. We haven’t had the whole team together team,” he said in an interview with Inter TV.
“Our goal, let’s not forget it, is to grow and the level at which we have performed is not enough. There is work to be done and the boys know they have to put something more in, otherwise it becomes difficult to get the results.
“Part of the group are going to the World Cup, so there will be about 6-7 players missing but it is also an opportunity to see others, to give them opportunities. I am convinced that even those on the fringes can do very well. It is an opportunity for us and also for them.
“Our work must be done as a group, and the group must not change if some players are not there. Obviously the characteristics are different, in the two Youth League games we were missing two players but I am convinced that we can still do well.”
