Former Torino and Pescara midfielder Leo Junior spoke about Inter striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa and coach Antonio Conte in an interview featured in today’s paper edition of the weekly magazine Sportweek by Gazzetta dello Sport.

“At Inter he had a negative experience, but he was only twenty years old. For forwards playing in Italy its hard, and when young even more so. But he has learned a lot from his experience in Italy and also at Benfica.”

“Now he could return to Italy, he has the necessary maturity. Last year he was already the top scorer in the league with 18 goals in Santos and this year he’s scoring the same. Flamengo would like to keep him, but I think he’s worth more than €30 million now, too much for us.”

The 65-year-old Brazilian then discussed Conte’s work at Inter.

“With Conte they made a quality team, especially from midfield onwards. And then he took Godin, the best defender in the world or one of the best. This year it’s going to be a good Serie A, a tougher one.”
