Inter full-back Cristiano Biraghi spoke to Italian broadcaster InterTV in their post match coverage after the Nerazzurri’s 4-3 victory over Sassuolo today in the Serie A away at the Mapei Stadium.

“First of all the 3 points are important, we are commenting on a game that was closed, then unfortunately we had a blackout that must not happen again. It’s part of the growth path but we can’t afford to lose tension, there are opponents with quality. The games must be kept closed.”

The 27-year-old Italian then discussed the slight collapse of the squad near the end of the game.

“Physical tiredness? I don’t think so, we’re trained to play an intense 90 minutes. It was a blackout after the second goal, it looked like we’d gotten into a stormy sea and it can’t happen.”

“We had been good at doing what we had to do, then we risked not bringing home the 3 points. Luckily it happened in a game that we won all the same, but it must never happen again.”

The player then touched on his quiet start to the game.

“In the first half we struggled to get the ball out on the wings, I touched the ball only a few times. It’s part of a game, it’s important to stay in the team’s service. In the second half we played more in my area and I did better. But it’s about winning.”

Finally, Biraghi confirmed that he is physically fine despite a few tough challenges in the game.

“Am I alright physically? Yes, everything’s fine.”
