Inter Striker Lautaro Martinez: “I Train My Best Every Day To Help Inter”

Inter striker Lautaro Martinez spoke to gathered reporters in the mixed zone of the Mapei stadium today, following the Nerazzurri’s 4-3 victory over Sassuolo, with Italian media outlet FcInterNews in attendance.

“I am very happy with my individual performance, although the most important thing is the success of the team. We must continue to work and train.”

He touched on his impressive form with both the Nerazzurri and the Argentinian national team.

“I’m playing well, and I feel good. I train my best every day to help Inter on the pitch.”

The 22-year-old striker also spoke about his partnership with former Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku.

“Against Cagliari he scored, then it was my turn. The important thing is to score, not who takes the penalty kicks.”

The Inter forward also touched on Inter’s small collapse in the last 15 minutes of the game.

“I think it was a mental problem, we were 4-1 up and we were dominating, then Sassuolo got back into the game, making it 4-3, that wasn’t supposed to happen. We lost order; we have to work so that it doesn’t happen again.”

Finally, Lautaro touched on the growth of his relationship with Lukaku.

“Yeah, beyond the goals we know each other better day after day. It’s important to be back to winning.”
