Former Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN today ahead of Cagliari’s game against SPAL in the Serie A.

“Against Empoli there was a slightly light celebration, without any desire for controversy, as some thought. It was like a relief; I was breathing after the suffering.”

“I didn’t expect that I would never play for Inter again, because Marotta never wanted to talk about it, and nobody told me anything. I went on vacation. Then, they called me at the end of June to a meeting where they told me that they have made other choices.”

“I would have liked to have worked more with Conte, because in a month, even if it is difficult to judge in such a small way, he showed such determination.”

The 31-year-old Belgian midfielder spent one season with the Nerazzurri last year, where he made 36 appearances, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in that time.
