Borussia Dortmund centre back Manuel Akanji knows that he and his teammates will have to be at their best if they wish to penetrate through Inter’s defence.

The Germans are set to take on the Nerazzurri on Wednesday night at San Siro in the third round of Champions League group stage action and could give themselves a lot of breathing room on Antonio Conte’s side if they are to win.

Both they and Barcelona have four points and both could extend their leads over Inter and Slavia Prague in the group to six points with victories, which would leave Inter and Slavia Prague facing a real uphill task in the final three group stages games.

“The result can be very crucial. It is going to be about defending well and we will have to be pretty efficient too. Inter defend very well, I have seen a few of their games,” he remarked in an interview with Ruhr Nachrichten.
