In an interview with Italian radio station Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, Mario Giuffredi, the agent of Napoli defender Giovanni Di Lorenzo has revealed that Inter were in for him prior to him joining the Partenopei.
The 26-year-old full back joined Napoli this past Summer following Empoli’s relegation to Serie B and has been virtually ever present, playing in every minute of eight of Napoli’s nine games to date across all competitions.
“There were many teams that were in for him, Inter wanted him too. Napoli needed another fullback so we preferred to take him there,” he said.
Whilst Inter missed out on Di Lorenzo, they did sign two full backs during the Summer transfer window in Cristiano Biraghi and Valentino Lazaro.
The two players have struggled for game time with them both making just two appearances each this season with Biraghi faring a lot better than Lazaro has on the pitch.
