Speaking as he appeared in Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia’s studios, former Inter midfielder Esteban Cambiasso has reflected upon Inter’s  4-3 away win against Sassuolo yesterday.

“It all seemed to be done and dusted but then everything disappeared in a moment. Despite this, I never had the impression that Sassuolo could have scored any more than they did and this is a sign of Inter’s maturity,” he said.

“Games after the international break are always dangerous but I expected this performance from Inter. The two defeats before the break were both different but I see an Inter different from in previous years. They are concrete, there were changes made to the starting 11 but the absence of Stefano Sensi had a big impact.”

The Argentine then spoke on Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku, who both grabbed braces.

“As for the two strikers, I think they are both first strikers but Lautaro plays better with another first striker: I learned this from Crespo and Cruz, who said they preferred to play with Ibrahimovic.

“Lautaro is becoming a real favourite among the Argentine people and they are already starting to compare him to Batistuta.”

He concluded by speaking on the possibility of Zlatan Ibrahimovic returning.

“He can surely return, he will deliver good performances for sure but maybe you can’t make him play all three matches per week.”
