Lautaro Martinez’s agent Beto Yaque will be in Milan in the coming days to hold talks with Inter officials over a contract extension for his client according to a report in today’s paper edition of Tuttosport.

The Argentine forward is already under contract until the end of the 2022/23 season and recently received a salary hike as per the terms of his contract up to €2.5 million.

Inter are in no hurry to tie the 22-year-old down to a new deal given how long he is still has left to run on his current one but Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta in particular would like to see the release clause removed.

Lautaro Martinez has a €111 million release clause, the highest in the Inter squad, and should he continue to perform as he has, that clause will become more enticing to other clubs who could move in for him.

This season he has made 10 appearances across all competitions, in which he has scored five goals and provided two assists for teammates.
