In an interview with Bayern Munich’s official club website, Ivan Perisic has shared his hopes to progress to the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time in his career.

“We didn’t make it to the knockout stages in the first year with Dortmund, and in the second year I joined Wolfsburg in the winter,” he said.

“I only contested the group stage with Inter. I took part in [the knockout stages of] two World Cups and one European Championships, but I have yet to take that step in the Champions League. I hope that can change at Bayern.”

The Croatian winger joined the Bundesliga outfit this past Summer on a season long loan with the reigning German champions having an option to sign him outright at the end of the season for a sum of €20 million.

Perisic has made six appearances since arriving in Munich, in which he has scored twice and provided two assists.
