Speaking at the RAI and FIGC National Value event earlier today, FIGC president Gabriele Gravina has explained some of the measures that will be taken in the continued battle to try and eradicate racism in Italian football.

There have been several racist incidents occur this season, with Inter’s Romelu Lukaku among the victims, and it now appears that action will finally be taken.

“Our protocol is very strict but sometimes there are ways that do not allow us to understand the racist chants in detail, so we are getting ready, the challenge is always very current, we have to resort to technology,” he is quoted as saying at the event by TuttoMercatoWeb.

“Now we will have a model and a system that we want to test quickly, which will not allow any way out for culprits. It is much more than a VAR for racism. It is supplied by the Anti-terrorism department with which it is possible to distinguish every single voice.”

He concluded: “Which leagues will it be used in? We will need to see.”
