In today’s paper edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, the Milanese news outlet have highlighted a possible good omen for Inter ahead of their crucial Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund tonight.
Antonio Conte made his Champions League debut as a player against the German opposition, back in September 1995, with his Juventus side going on to win 3-1. The Bianconeri then went on to win the entire competition that season.
Tonight’s match will meanwhile be former Italian national team manager Conte’s first match as manager of Inter against Borussia Dortmund therefore it remains to be seen if a similar scenario could pan out.
