Sebastiano Esposito became Inter’s youngest player to appear in a Champions League match in almost 40 years according to Opta.
The youngster came off the bench in last night’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund aged 17-years and 113 days old. Only the legendary Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi, who played his first game in the then European Cup aged 17-years 72 days, was younger.
On top of this Esposito stat, Opta have also highlighted that Lautaro Martinez is the youngest Inter player to score in back-to-back Champions League games since 2005. Lautaro managed the feat aged 22-years 62 days whilst Obafemi Martins managed it aged 20-years 118 days.
Finally, Opta highlight that Inter conceded their least shots in the Champions League game since Opta started collecting such data back in 2003/04 as they allowed Dortmund just four shots at San Siro.
