In an interview with Inter TV, Inter boss Antonio Conte has reflected on his side’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League group stage.
“Borussia showed great respect to us. They have always played with 4-2-3-1 this season but changed their system to play against us. We must continue to do what we are doing. I am happy that our lads want to do well and overcome many difficulties,” he started.
“The group is becoming more mature, we have a long way to go, it is inevitable, but we have only just started and we will try to give further satisfaction to the fans.
“We were very good at managing the various phases of the game, something that we had failed to do in the last 20 minutes against Sassuolo. The boys showed maturity and compactness, I am happy for them. They work hard and they deserve satisfaction like this. The fans helped it and deserve this satisfaction too.”
He concluded by talking on Sebastiano Esposito, who came off the bench aged just 17.
“We are talking about a boy who did all of his pre-season with us. He is growing. The fact I played him shows I have trust in him. We have him, Bastoni and other interesting young players in our Primavera.
“Those who are deserving will play, I do not care if that player is 35 or 17. My job is to build with our young talents, not only for the future but also the present.
