In today’s paper edition, Tuttosport have examined Inter striker Lautaro Martinez’s rich vein of form which he finds himself in.

“The Argentine has already scored 66% of the goals which he scored last season, when in 35 games his tally came to nine. Now he is at six in 11 games this season and the tally could have been greater had his penalty in the second half not been saved,” the report in the Turin newspaper begins.

“Martinez’s growth is evident, every week there is transfer speculation about him but the €111 million release clause is reassuring for Inter. Martinez has become an important player in Conte’s team both in the present and for the future.

It concludes: “Last night he scored in the 22nd minute, beating the offside line to slip the ball past Burki. Five of the six goals he has scored this season have come in the first half hour of play.”
