In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Inter’s Antonio Candreva shared his thoughts on the team’s performance in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.
“Yesterday we had a total performance, we suffered when we had to suffer and in the moments in which we had to attack we did it, especially when playing in Europe we have to be careful for the whole game,” he began.
“It was important to close the game, we had already had some opportunities to close it even before but in the end we did and we achieved a great victory at home.”
He then spoke on the mark made by Antonio Conte during his short time at the club and the team as a whole.
“From the first friendly, Conte’s mark was seen. There is positivity in the air, the right enthusiasm and the desire to work with sacrifice and humility. It’s like if we were all starting from scratch. We are fine and we have been training hard since the beginning of the week.
“The team’s margins for growth are great, there are young guys who can still improve and give a lot. After this match there is a lot of optimism and confidence in our means but we also know that we cannot relax. Now let’s put the Champions League in the drawer and think about it again in two weeks.”
He concluded by discussing his personal ambitions.
“There is always time to improve, then with the manager you learn and improve day by day, thanks to work, attention and sacrifice.
“The national team? We all know how important it is to each of us, those who have been part of it know what emotions they feel to represent their country around the world, but the important thing is to work and be ready.”
