Juventus President Agnelli Criticises Inter Coach Conte: “Suspended For Match Fixing When At Another Club”

Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has taken a swipe at Inter manager Antonio Conte for historic match fixing allegations, which saw him temporarily banned from footballing matters whilst he was manager of the Bianconeri.

Conte was punished by authorities for failing to report match fixing during his time in charge of Siena. There were various allegations lodged against the current Nerazzurri boss, all of which he strenuously denied, but the Italian football federation did not believe him and proceeded to ban him.

Speaking at Juventus’ annual shareholders meeting today, as quoted by FCInter1908.it, Agnelli made the following comment and although Conte is not mentioned, it is absolutely clear that the comment was aimed right at him.

“We handled complex situations, such as the match fixing scandal in 2012 concerning the conduct of employees who were sanctioned for how they conducted themselves in previous places of employment. What other club would have been able to manage six months without the coach on the bench?”
