Gabriele Gravina, the president of FIGC, the Italian football federation, has shared his delight at the success Italian clubs are having in Europe at the moment.

Three of Italy’s four representatives in the Champions League all picked up victories this week, with two of those three teams currently topping the groups and the other – Inter – currently sitting in second.

“It is a good time for Italian clubs in Europe. The teams are enjoying a period of great concentration and enthusiasm and are showing that Italian football is in excellent health in terms of ideas and planning.”

He also spoke on the Italian national team, who have already secured their spot at next Summer’s EURO 2020 ahead of the final two rounds of qualifiers which will take place next month.

“The national team are also very positive at the moment too. They have succeeded in rediscovering the pride of belonging to the Azzurri shirt that has really brought prestige to our country.”
