Barcelona have intensified their interest in signing Lautaro Martinez from Inter according to a report from Spanish news outlet AS.

The Argentine striker fits the bill for the kind of player that the Blaugrana wish to bring in as they seek to sort replacements out for several of their ageing players.

In Martinez’s case, he is being targeted to replace Luis Suarez in the attack and Barcelona have already had scouts watch the 22-year-old on several occasions this season.

They will continue to assess him as the season goes on and have already initiated contact with the players representatives to declare their interest.

The report goes on to state that Lautaro, who joined Inter in 2018 from Racing club, is not the only player under consideration but is their top target, especially after his performances in big matches against the likes of themselves, Juventus and Borussia Dortmund – all of which he scored in.
