In today’s paper edition, Turin based newspaper Tuttosport have looked at the rebirth of Inter wing back Antonio Candreva under Antonio Conte this season.
Inter signed Valentino Lazaro during the Summer to play at right wing back. The Austrian however, has so far had difficulties and will still need time. So for the time being Candreva is taking full advantage of Lazaro’s struggles and has cemented himself as Inter’s best right wing back.
In his previous two seasons, Candreva managed just three goals but already has two goals to his name after just nine appearances this season across all competitions.
Candreva has been reborn after two seasons as a player who found himself marginalised under the management of Luciano Spalletti. Perhaps Candreva’s revitalisation can be put down to the fact he is perfect for Conte’s 3-5-2 system, as evidenced by the success they had whilst Conte was manager of Italy.
