Only 3 Inter Players In Past 25 Years Have Started Better Than Lukaku After First 8 League Games

Only three players have made a better start on the goalscoring front in their first eight Inter games in the league than Romelu Lukaku has in the past 25 years, sports analytics company Opta have highlighted.

The Belgian, who joined Inter in a club record transfer deal from Premier League club Manchester United this past Summer, has netted an impressive five goals in his first eight matches, including a goal in his first ever Milan derby.

In the past 25 years since the 1994/95 season, only Marco Branca, Ronaldo and Diego Milito have made better starts to life in Nerazzurri with the trio all managing to notch six goals.

All in all this season, Lukaku, who is under contract with the Nerazzurri until the end of the 2023/24 season, has made 10 appearances across all competitions. All five of his goals have come in 632 league minutes whilst he has been unable to score any goals in his 152 minutes in the Champions Legaue.
