In today’s paper edition, Corriere dello Sport have looked at the relationship – or rather lack of one – between Inter manager Antonio Conte and Juventus president Andrea Agnelli.
During yesterday’s Juventus shareholders meeting, Agnelli took a swipe at Conte for being banned for match fixing at Siena, which saw him banned during his time in charge of Juventus
“Conte has never been thanked by Agnelli like Max Allegri nor defined as a ‘a determining factor in the growth of Juventus’. A completely different treatment is reserved for the two managers of the last eight titles,” it begins.
“It goes to show how different the relationships that the number one of the Old Lady has with the two, and this is not just because now Antonio is at the helm of Inter, who are Juventus’ main competitor for the Scudetto.
“Yesterday, in fact, was not Agnelli’s first swipe at Conte in front of shareholders, even two years ago, when he praised Allegri, he went for Conte.”
The report concludes: “Relations are extremely cold and 20 days ago, when Conte was asked about the petition of a group of Juventus supporters determined to remove his star from the stadium, the answer was telling of the coldness that now separates the president from his former manager.”
