Inter wingback Antonio Candreva spoke in today’s Matchday Programme, put together by the Nerazzurri ahead of every home game and emailed to subscribers of their newsletter, discussing his play with the Nerazzurri and coach Antonio Conte.

“In my role I have to be always ‘on’ as we say, always focused, like my teammates. Everyone is involved because a mistake can affect the course of the action or the game.”

The 32-year-old Italian then touched on the hard work he is carrying out with the club and what the coach brings to the squad.

“Sacrifice and work are essential. What I’m doing now is playing in a role that I did for the first time at the European Championships with a lot of dedication because it’s physically demanding and requires attention to take care of both the defensive and the offensive.”

“Conte can give us a boost, he’s strong and demanding, but he brings out the best in us. We’re proving to be a good group with room for improvement, a desire to do well and aim high.”
