Former Italy and Juventus coach Marcello Lippi praised Inter coach Antonio Conte when speaking to Italian radio station Radio Deejay earlier.

“Conte is a driving force, he always was: he was an example in training and in the game. He was a leader, and I had an infinite number of them, a charismatic leader, he always knew what to say at the right time. Antonio was with his attitude.”

Lippi then revealed an anecdote about Conte’s curious attitude whilst playing with Juventus.

“Once something happened: Antonio ran halfway across the pitch and lost the ball. Zidane chased the opponent far and recovered the ball, stopping them from scoring. Conte said to me at the end of the game: ‘Mister, do you realise what a team we are? I must never dribble; Zidane must do it. Instead I dribbled and he recovered for me. That’s why we win, for this spirit.”
