Speaking in an interview with SportWeek, a supplement in Milanese newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Radja Nainggolan has opened up on being booed at Inter among other things.

“At Inter, I was booed at first because I was talking about Roma and Rome, which was my home but I am not one of those who kisses the jersey of the team he just arrived at,” he started.

He was then asked why he returned to Cagliari and confirmed it was to make things easier for his wife, who is currently battling cancer.

“I returned to Cagliari for the sake of my wife: she was born here, she has family and friends here too. Here, for her it is easier to fight.”

The Belgian’s off-field antics have often found their way into the media.

“Going out partying and drinking alcohol? If I want, I can give up everything.”

Since returning to Cagliari on loan from Inter, the 31-year-old has one goal and one assist in six appearances across all competitions.
