In today’s print edition, Corriere dello Sport have examined the fine form Mauro Icardi has been showing for loan club Paris Saint Germain.
The 26-year-old Argentine joined the reigning French champions on a season long loan from Inter on transfer deadline day of the Summer transfer window, with PSG having an option to sign him permanently for €70 million at the end of the season.
In seven appearances across all competitions, Icardi has seven goals, with all seven of those goals coming in his past five outings for them.
He is scoring a goal after every 17 touches on average and one goal every 77.6 minutes, numbers that rank him among the top five strikers in the top five European leagues.
Should he manage to keep up this form for the remainder of the season, it would appear almost inevitable that PSG would take up their option on him. If PSG do, Inter will stand to make a significant capital gain from Icardi.
