Inter Youngster Pirola: “Training With The Inter First Team Helps Me Out A Lot”

Ahead of Italy’s under 17 World Cup opener with the Solomon Islands later on today, Inter defender Lorenzo Pirola has spoken on how it feels to represent the national team.

“I started with the Under 15 team, it is the best feeling for a footballer to represent their country in important competitions. We are looking to build upon what we did at the last European Championships,” he said.

“Many of us have known each other for some time but even with the new players in the group we feel good with them. We are a nice group.”

Next he spoke on being able to train under Antonio Conte with the Inter first team.

“Training with the Inter first team helps me out a lot because the pace of their training is very high and will help when we face strong teams.”

In conclusion he was then asked which player he thinks he resembles most on the pitch.

“I would say the player I am most like is Giorgio Chiellini. I think he is one of the best in the world. I am inspired by the way he plays.”
