Paris Saint Germain manager Thomas Tuchel has sang the praises of on-loan striker Mauro Icardi after the Argentine netted twice in their 4-0 win over Marseille at the weekend.

Speaking to the media after the match, the German said: “Mauro has adapted to our style and to our game very quickly. He has helped us out right away, right from the first games he played for us.

“He can help us both in possession and out of possession, he is very intelligent and is improving in training. He has gained confidence because now he is scoring and also delivering assists.”

Icardi’s two goals in yesterday’s triumph were his sixth and seventh goals in seven matches for the French powerhouses, who he joined on a season long loan from Inter on transfer deadline day of the Summer transfer window. As part of the deal, PSG secured an option to sign the 26-year-old striker permanently for €70 million.
