The Milanese city council will today declare a public interest in Inter and AC Milan’s project for their new stadium according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
With a public interest declared, Inter and AC Milan will be able to proceed with their project to build a new state-of-the-art stadium which they will depart San Siro for in the coming years.
The report does however warn that the road is far from downhill for the two clubs though. Further negotiations with the council still need to take place and they will of course take some time. Changes will be required, regardless of whether the clubs chose the Populous or Cmr Sportium-Manica project.
The future of San Siro will be one of the main talking points in negotiations. The clubs initially wanted to completely demolish it but it looks like they may have to settle to preserve San Siro in some way.
