Factions For & Against Inter & AC Milan’s New Stadium Forming In Milan City Council

There are two opposing factions that have formed within the Milan city council when it comes to Inter and AC Milan’s new stadium project according to a report in today’s paper edition of Milanese news outlet Corriere della Sera.

One of the factions is made up of those against the idea of Inter and AC Milan building a new state-of-the-art stadium to replace San Siro, which has been in operation since 1926.

They argue that whilst they understand the area surrounding the Giuseppe Meazza certainly needs a new lease of life, they do not think a brand new stadium alongside the shopping centres and big buildings that will come with it, is the way to go.

The other faction is made up of those for the new stadium. They are against the idea of San Siro remaining standing as they do not feel it makes sense to keep two sporting venues in operation in such close proximity to one another.
