Bologna midfielder Gary Medel could make a return to action this weekend against Inter according to a report from FCInterNews.it.

The experienced Chilean international is hard at work trying to recover from the muscle injury he sustained in recent weeks to make himself available to manager Sinisa Mihajlovic for selection against his former employers on Saturday.

The 32-year-old spent three years with Inter between 2014 and 2017, during which time he made 109 appearances across all competitions in a Nerazzurri shirt.

Medel is just one of several players currently dealing with an injury in the Rossoblu’s ranks with Mattia Destro, Mitchell Dijks and Takehiro Tomiyasu all also dealing with injury problems.

The report goes on to explain that Tomiyasu’s injury, which he sustained on national team duty with Japan, is more serious than it was first thought to be and as a result he is not expected to return to action before December.
