In today’s paper edition, Rome based news outlet Corriere dello Sport have stated they believe Inter should have been awarded a penalty on Saturday during their eventual 2-2 draw against Parma.
Inter wing back Cristiano Biraghi appeared to be fouled in the box but despite this, there was no action taken by any of the match officials or any intervention from VAR. Had it been taken, there would have been no doubts that Biraghi should have won his side a penalty.
This was not the only time this past weekend in Serie A where there was radio silence from VAR with Bologna, Cagliari and Lazio all not being given penalties that would have been given had VAR been conducted.
