Hines chief executive Mario Abbadessa has shared concerns that the renovation of the San Siro district as part of Inter and AC Milan’s new stadium project could disrupt renovation plans for the former race track right next door to San Siro.
The racecourse has lay abandoned for some time now and has fallen into a state of disrepair although plans have been presented for it to be renovated in order for it to become a functioning facility once more.
“The two projects are at risk of going head to head with one another. They are two distinct administrative procedures, but we are absolutely open to a dialogue with the teams,” he said in an interview with Milanese news outlet Corriere della Sera, an interview which appeared in today’s print edition.
“Although we have not yet met the management, we would consider, in the case, the possibility of hosting secondary functions of the other project.”
