Stefan de Vrij has shared his delight after Inter picked up another win on the road as they beat Brescia 2-1 to go back top of Serie A.

“It was not easy at all. We are happy with the victory. We were very good in the first half: we controlled the game and went ahead; then in the second half we suffered, but we managed to bring the three points home,” he began an interview with Inter TV post-match.

“We are happy because we are on the right track but we are aware that there is still a lot of work to do in order to improve: we will work and continue looking ahead. We think of the next game and we must continue like this.”

He was then asked on the possible psychological impact this result will have on the team.

“Certainly it will be positive, this is not an easy place to come and we saw that in the second half when they put us in difficulty. They are a good team, it was important to win.”

He concluded: “Playing every three or four days is great: we football players live to play these games; of course, this is tiring but we are happy to be able to play.”
