After Inter’s 2-1 away win over Brescia, Inter manager Antonio Conte held his customary post-match press conference and could not his happiness at the way in which his side performed.
“I’m super happy. I must thank the guys, who were exceptional. I’m super happy about everything, from the three points to what the boys gave on the pitch, it was not simple. For some of them it was their fourth game in nine days, I repeat, I am super happy. I couldn’t have asked for any more from the boys,” he began.
He then went on to sing the praises of Samir Handanovic, who made several key saves which helped Inter achieve victory.
“Handanovic is a good goalkeeper, he’s our goalkeeper: like everyone, he can sometimes do better and he can do worse. Having said that, there is a reason he is in our goals.”
Next he shared his views on the opposition, Brescia.
“I was impressed by the tenacity with which they tried to equalise. Eugenio Corini is doing a great job, he is among the best and most skilled managers that are out there. They won the league last year, in a beautiful way. I wish the best to him and to Brescia.”
He was then asked if any of the injured players will return against Bologna.
“Honestly, I don’t know. We are monitoring the situation day by day. D’Ambrosio’s problem is that he has a fracture, so it becomes difficult to think of recovering him. He is training well, we hope he can recover.
“Situations change from one day to the other. Vecino had an inflammation on an old injury: we monitor him, as we are still monitoring Stefano Sensi. I have great confidence in the coaching staff, who are working very well. These three are very important players for us.
“We must recover and prepare for a very dangerous trip like the one to Bologna and then we will face Dortmund. We hope to recover someone, because for us it will be important to give rest to certain players.”
