Inter Striker Lukaku’s Former Agent: “He Lives To Score Goals, When He Doesn’t Score He’s Unhappy”

In an interview with TuttoMercatoWeb, Peter Smeets, the first agent of Inter star Romelu Lukaku has shared some stories about the Belgian forward and his desire to score goals.

“I was with Romelu for seven years and I can say one thing, with absolute certainty. He lives to score goals. He has always scored goals and talked about goals,” he started.

“I had no doubt he would become a top player. He scored in Belgium, in England, at Everton, and at Manchester United and now at Inter.

“He is the record scorer in the national team, I am sure he will end up scoring over 100. I still remember his first matches with Belgium: he was angry about being substituted, it took him a short time to score. When he does not score he is not happy.”

He then revealed an anecdote about the striker’s ambitions to be the best.

“I told him, when he was younger, at the end of his career he would be the best striker in the history of Belgium, he said he wanted to do that at 25 and he managed it before that. It was clear to me that he would score so much, everywhere. He is hungry for goals.”

He concluded: “He plays at Inter because he wants to do it. When he has something in his head he does everything to achieve it, I have saw that since his early years.”
