Referee Michael Fabbri was right to wave away the many calls Brescia players made for penalties during last night’s 2-1 defeat at home to Inter according to a report in today’s print edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.

On the 37th minute, Brescia claimed for a penalty but the ball did not hit Roberto Gagliardini on the arm as they had presumed.

Soon after, yet more calls were made as the ball came off Lautaro Martinez’s hand but the ball hit the Argentine outside the box rather than in it so Fabbri was right to award a free kick to the hosts.

Shortly after the half-time interval, Brescia were claiming for a penalty again as Mario Balotelli hit the deck but Samir Handanovic did not connect with the former Inter prospect.

Finally, right at the death there were a few more calls. The ball came off Biraghi’s arm but his arms were not in an unnatural position, the ball also hit off of Stefan de Vrij’s shoulder rather than his hand or arm.
