Should Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez keep up their current scoring rates, they will rank among the best strike forces Inter fans have seen in the past 25 years according to a report in today’s paper edition of Gazzetta dello Sport.
The duo are scoring a goal every 121 minutes on the field, with only one strike force in the past quarter of a century managing to beat that and only just. Back in the 2002/03 season, Cristian Vieri and Alvaro Recoba managed a goal every 120 minutes.
Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez’s current scoring rate is better than the likes of Ronaldo and Ivan Zamorano, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli and Diego Milito and Samuel Eto’o.
The report goes on to state that Matteo Politano could well be sold in the upcoming January transfer window. The Italian has fallen right down the pecking order at the club and if he is to leave, Inter will target a player with similar characteristics to Lukaku.
