Inter Primavera manager Armando Madonna has shared his disappointment following his young side’s 4-2 defeat at home to their Roma counterparts earlier on today.

“Nothing worked for us. We played badly and Roma deserved the win. We were not mentally nor technically good enough, we were so wrong. We got it all wrong, we were inferior in everything that we did,” he remarked in an interview with Inter TV

“We are training boys and these matches are used to grow and to learn. This can teach us a lot. We faced difficulties against Borussia Dortmund but won. The mentality plays a big factor in victories. We need to change in this regard.

“We have lacked players in the last three games. It is not right to cling to those who are missing as we still had 11 players, just like Roma did. We lost because we did not have the right attitude and probably I did not transmit what I wanted correctly.”

He concluded: “The coach is always responsible, Tuesday is another important game, this defeat must serve as a lesson to us all.”
