In an interview with FCInterNews.it, former Inter central defender Miranda has discussed how he has settled into life at Inter’s sister club Jiangsu Suning in the Chinese Super League.

“I am feeling very good in China. I was surprised as Suning’s infrastructure is really incredible. They are serious and we are talking about a great club,” he started.

“Eder was instrumental in my transition to Jiangsu. Before signing, I asked him so many questions and I’m seeing what he said for myself now. I’m happy. I’m enjoying this adventure. It’s a different culture, but I’m adapting.”

He was then asked if he keeps in touch with any of his Inter teammates and Inter’s title chances this term.

“I recently spoke with D’Ambrosio, Candreva and Handanovic. Now I am an Inter fan and I like to see the team at the top in the standings.

“Inter has invested so much, buying several top players and not giving up others already in the squad. This year I think they can win a trophy, or maybe even two. The club is growing.”

He was then asked about how his exit occurred.

“The club and I decided to mutually part ways. I hope the Nerazzurri win something. They can really do it, they have the means to do it.”

He was then asked what his best memory was from his time at Inter.

“Making it into the Champions League. After so many years of not qualifying, we managed to do it two years in a row. This is a sign of growth and can help Inter get even further.”

The Brazilian then discussed the noticeable improvement made by Lautaro Martinez this season.

“I am very happy for Lautaro. He is a player with a lot of character who always wants to improve. I am happy with his progress and the many goals he is scoring.”

The penultimate question of the interview was on Diego Godin, his former Atletico Madrid teammate who replaced him at Inter.

“Diego is a top defender. He will certainly prove his worth. He has changed leagues and the way he plays, he needs to get used to it but he has unquestionable qualities.”

He concluded by talking about the Inter fans.

“They always showed me affection. I carry them in my heart. I hope Inter will come back to win something for them as they deserve it. China is full of Inter supporters. Wherever I go, people are crazy about Inter and everyone asks me about Inter.”
