Bologna sporting director Walter Sabatini spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia following the Rossoblu’s 2-1 defeat to Inter tonight.
“Luckily, I met Conte because he told me he talked about Bologna, but I don’t think he touched on Bologna as an opponent. It’s right that the Inter’s merits are recognized because in football the winner is discussed, and the loser is silenced.”
“We lost a game that we shouldn’t have lost. Two minutes from the end there’s a clear foul on Palacio that should have been given, inside the area, but it’s still a penalty, maybe the game would have ended differently.”
“A foul at the edge of the area leads to the end of the game. The penalty kick on Lautaro, who is a great player and I saw this evening that he has also acquired the shrewdness of a veteran, did you see it? I didn’t see it. Lautaro held his leg.”
“It’s a little bit of a dive if we want to define it honestly. Conte told me that Bologna was a strong and loyal opponent, is it true that he said so? We’re not a team of individual players, we’re a good team. You know Palacio, he doesn’t dive on the pitch, that’s obvious.”
“I’ll take the foul out there with two minutes to go. I saw an intense match, with great performance from Inter and Bologna and we lost it. Conte, I really appreciate him, but he’s legitimized our goal, but it seems to me to be a deserved goal.”
