Former Inter defender turned pundit Daniele ‘Lele’ Adani has taken a look at the current state of the Serie A table and how the traditionally big sides in the league have fared.

“Inter and Juventus already seem to be pulling away from Napoli, who, on paper, should have been the team that completed the top three. Napoli is a team accustomed to certain levels but are losing some inspiration and often concede goals,” he said in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Deejay.

He then discussed AC Milan, who have struggled all season.

“Milan has been in trouble from the start of the season, even with the change of manager the situation has not changed for them. Stefano Pioli’s players have yet to prove they can live with the pressures of playing for Milan.”

Next he spoke on what has surprised him most about this campaign.

“The real surprise of the season is how the smaller teams are playing against everyone and how both Juventus and Inter seem to suffer against these teams. Juventus still have unexpressed potential whilst Inter are already at their peak.”

He concluded by sharing his views on the two clubs from the Italian capital, Roma and Lazio.

“Roma are strong and Paulo Fonseca has made some important choices, namely the recovery Javier Pastore. Lazio are not a surprise. Ciro Immobile is a top player, not just for his scoring but for his hard work for the team.”
