In an interview with Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, former Inter striker Alessandro Altobelli has complimented Romelu Lukaku for the way in which he has adapted to his new surroundings at Inter.
“He has pleasantly surprised us. Inter signed him to score goals and to take the place of Mauro Icardi, which did not make things easy but with his character, his grit and that unstoppable desire to test himself, he has immediately made his mark by scoring goals, immediately adapting to Italian football,” Altobelli said.
“He is a reference point for Inter, good with his head, his left foot and lethal in the final third. At the rate he is scoring, he will reach 25-30 goals this season.”
He concluded by speaking on the Belgian international’s humility despite the way he was welcomed.
“Inter fans welcomed him as a king but the way he treats his teammates and the fans, all while speaking in Italian is surprising. Romelu immediately became one of us.”
