In all likelihood, Inter’s first January transfer window reinforcement will be Parma defender Matteo Darmian according to a report in today’s print edition of Turin newspaper Tuttosport.

Inter have a gentleman’s agreement in place with Parma over the Italian, who joined the Ducali from Manchester United this past Summer.

Darmian, who is primarily a right back is also capable of playing at left back and even at centre back meaning he would add further depth to Inter’s defensive department.

Things are however quite difficult when it comes to Inter’s pursuit of Arturo Vidal. Barcelona do not wish to part ways with the Chilean who reportedly wants reunited with former manager Antonio Conte at Inter.

Inter want him on a loan with redemption option basis but want to avoid giving Barcelona any form of preferential treatment for their players meaning they may need to look elsewhere if Barcelona insist, this despite Conte supposedly marking Vidal as his number one target.
