In an interview with French broadcaster RMC Sport, Mauro Icardi has admitted he will do all he can to ensure that he remains with PSG past this season.

“I will do everything to stay at Paris Saint Germain. I have to test myself on the field. We had a good October, but there is still a lot to do, I have to continue to demonstrate what I can do in the coming months.

“We will see at the end of the season if I stay, I want to do good things, I came for that, obviously playing for a team like PSG is very important, they are one of the best teams in the world.”

He then spoke on his relationship with fellow striker Edinson Cavani.

“I have known him for a long time, we also challenged one another in Italy. He is an extraordinary player, he has made history at PSG.

“I arrived to give my contribution then it is the coach who decides who will play, we both want what is good for the team, we both like to score, we try to do well even in training when the coach puts us together.”

He concluded by speaking on his exit from Inter and arrival in Paris.

“It was Leonardo who convinced me, I immediately had a different feeling. He called me to convince me to help the club, Leonardo was very important in my choice.

“He told me that I could return to being an important player in this team after I had been in a complicated situation in Milan. I had other offers but I thought it was nice to come to Paris.”
