Report Claims Inter & Flamengo Agree Fee Over Gabigol

According to a report from Calciomercato.com, Inter and Flamengo have agreed a fee for the permanent transfer of striker Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa.

The 23-year-old striker has been with Flamengo on loan since January and has scored a superb 36 goals in 49 appearances for them across all competitions.

Inter will receive a sum between €18-19 million from Flamengo, who were unable to meet the Nerazzurri’s €22-23 million demands,

Inter chief executive Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta and sporting director Piero Ausilio will push for the difference to be made up by a high future resale % clause.

The report goes on to state that the player himself is wishing to hold off from making a decision for a few weeks to see if any offers arrive for him from another European club.

Whether he lands at Flamengo or not, one thing for certain is that the Brazilian international will be sold by Inter, who may even make a small capital gain.
